Can the Suns win a championship this year? And if so, what do they have to do? |
SASUX.com Aug 27, 08 | For starters, play better defense and develop their bench. Nash, Shaq and Grant Hill can't log a ton of minutes, so Dragic, Lopez and Diaw will need to be ready to play 10-15 minutes per game each. I like the off-season acquisitions and believe Terry Porter and his new staff will do a much better job than D'Antoni did in these areas. Let's just pray that the offense doesn't fall off too much! Go Suns! San Antonio SUCKS!! |
Master Wayne Dec 30, 08 | I think regardless of whether it is run and gun, half court, new style, old style, old school, etc.; the Suns have to play with intensity and a killer instinct. If you look at championship teams like the 93 Bulls which I know everyone remembers; they were a team that had great players but moreover they had a killer instinct to win. Moreover when it came to game time they would crush you in the first half so bad you were done. Show Time Lakers in the eighties were the same way. Intensity and killer instinct. The Spurs have that now and the rings to back that up; and we saw that on Christmas day with that miserable last play and again rampant turnovers throughout the game. So far, Im not seeing the Suns having what it takes this year. They are way too inconsistent. Moreover they play without passion and intensity. Im hoping once they get past the All Star Break they will have more time together and familiarity and their performance will be tighter, I mean 12 turnovers a game? This is not a tight team, its a team trying hard to find its identity and more importantly its passion. |
GavZetCo Jan 31, 09 | i think the Suns should trade either Nash or Amare. i think they are very unhappy right now. i'm not gonna say that they are doing this on purpose but it feels like it. trade AMARE for someone who knows how to shoot from the outside, dribble, and post-up. my best choice would be DIRK but i think Cuban will never let him go. AMARE keeps on complaining that he is not getting any touches. if only he would know how to defend and post-up then Porter would certainly give him the ball but he is not showing it. SHAQ and GRANTY are the only guys who is proving that he can still do it. SHUT UP and just play your heart out, man. |
Jamie D. Gilkey Jun 25, 09 | Bring back the Run & Gun. Shaq is a once dominant player who has become a sluggish weight around the Phoenix Suns' neck. He needs to traded ASAP because the big guy is slowing everything down. Shaq was a dominant player -he ISN'T ANY MORE. The core of the team should be Amare at center and Grant Hill, Jason Richardson, Matt Barnes and Steve Nash. This would require Steve Kerr admitting that acquiring Shaq was a mistake from the start but the purge is absolutely necessary! Let's go Suns. |
